A seasoned technology professional turned passionate conservation advocate, bringing 23 years of analytical expertise to biodiversity documentation. As a certified Eco-volunteer under the Government of Karnataka, he has documented over 250 bird species in Mysore over 17 years.
Based in Mysore with roots in semi-urban Bangalore, he serves as a certified Eco-volunteer under the Government of Karnataka, playing a vital role in documenting India’s rich biodiversity through extensive field research and travel. His multidisciplinary approach encompasses nature photography, comprehensive behavioral studies of birds and mammals, and watercolor landscape painting.
As a specialist in avian migration tracking and bird behavior analysis, his research focuses particularly on migratory patterns and the critical impacts of environmental and climate change on bird migration routes in the Mysore area, contributing valuable data to ongoing conservation efforts.
His expertise has gained recognition through contributions to various international publications, while his documentary work on migratory birds has been commissioned by both the Government of Karnataka and the Department of Forest.

A distinguished avian specialist and wildlife photographer with 18 years in the Government Sector. As a certified Eco-volunteer with the Government of Karnataka, he brings deep field expertise and specialized knowledge in bird topography and migratory bird habitats.
His passion for birding has evolved into a significant contribution to ornithological research and conservation. He has successfully channeled his analytical mindset and attention to detail into comprehensive wildlife documentation.
As an avid birder with deep field expertise, Nagamuttu has traveled extensively across diverse landscapes, capturing the intricate beauty of wildlife through his lens while building an impressive repository of natural history documentation. His specialized knowledge has positioned him as a leading authority in the region, with particular focus on the ecologically rich areas of Mysore and the Western Ghats.
Maansi Pattar
Programme Co-ordinator
An emerging voice at the intersection of psychology and nature communication. Currently pursuing studies in Psychology, she serves on the editorial board of Naturepix and is actively working on “Birds of Mysore,” a comprehensive publication for ornithologists and conservationists.
As a valued contributor to the editorial board of Naturepix, Maansi plays a pivotal role in shaping the publication’s editorial direction and content quality. Her keen editorial eye and passion for nature writing have made her an integral part of the team’s mission to document and share wildlife stories with broader audiences.
In addition to her written contributions, Maansi is expanding her creative horizons by collaborating on a short film project set for release by the Naturepix team. This multimedia approach reflects her understanding of diverse communication platforms and her commitment to reaching varied audiences through different storytelling mediums.
With her unique combination of psychological insight and passion for nature communication, Maansi represents the next generation of science communicators who understand the importance of connecting human psychology with environmental awareness.
